For my last self-intervention, I decided to do a total media fast. Just recently, in another class, I tracked my media use for a week and did a 24 hour fast from using my phone. I wanted to see what it would be like if I continued this for a week. I did not use apps on my phone, and I only used my computer for homework instead of watching shows. There were a few times that I got home from school and work all day and just wanted to relax and enjoy a show but I was able to redirect this energy. I filled this time with cooking, painting and enjoying my family and friends. I think that this was overall a good experience because it showed me the other things that I could do in this time that are more beneficial. This also showed me how much time I would usually waste and how I can be more conscious of that going forward.
